The House

Lowen Cottage is a two bedroom end terrace property situated in the heart of beautiful Boscastle.

You enter the property from the old high street and step into a period living room enjoying much warmth and character. It has seating for 4, a wood buring stove, low beamed ceilings, a selection of board games and a digital TV, which comes in most useful for the odd rainy day. There's a small extendable table capable of seating 4 quite happily.

Leading off the main living space is a small, shaker style kitchen with everything you'll need during your stay; cooker, refrigerator, microwave, kitchen utensils etc.

The real beauty of the kitchen lies the fabulous views down the Jordan valley. Many a happy moment has been spent gazing out the back window with cup of coffee in hand.

Unusually, the bathroom is also accessed from the main living room. With wooden floor, there is a high level wc (with interesting knack of flushing), wall mounted handbasin, panelled bath with shower mixer attachment and further shower unit with round shower head.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms, although in reality, one is of generous proportion and the other somewhat lesser in stature. The master bedroom having a Victorian double bed, window seat to the front, feature fireplace, wall mounted panel heater, wardrobe, chester drawers and room for an additional Z bed or cot if required.

The second bedroom, although a little on the small side, has a double bed, chest of drawers, mirror and wall heater.

The Garden

Being an end terrace corner plot, Lowen Cottage has a good sized garden which is fortunate enough to catch the sun for most of the day.

Why not treat yourself to breakfast in the garden? Gillian thinks there is no better way and guaranteed to set you up for the rest of your stay!

The garden is accessed via a pedestrian gate to the side of the property or via the kitchen door leading to the raised wooden decking providing a superb view down the valley. The garden consists of lawned areas, flower and shrub borders and flower beds and paved patio area with table and chairs and enjoying seclusion.

From the garden there is access to a woodstore and an outside WC.

There is also a utility room with sink unit, washing machine and tumble dryer. All the things one needs for the Great British summer time!

Garden furtniture is provided along with a couple of BBQs; one of traditional cast iron construction and one of South African origin. Anybody who manages to assemble and successfully cook on this "Brai" gets my vote and is probably prime material for the Krypton Factor!

It's worth noting that Lowen Cottage is situated in the heart of the old village and parking is very limited, especially during the main holiday periods. Don't be too precious if you can't park immediately opposite.
